Factor4Solutions is a TU Berlin spin-off founded in 2023. Building on years of research into the efficient operation of cooling and heating systems, we have developed a solution that integrates seamlessly into existing cooling plants to improve their performance.
From research, not from sales.
The founders of Factor4Solutions were recognised in September 2021 at DHC2021, the District Heating and Cooling Conference in Nottingham, by the International Energy Agency and the conference organiser for their research into the efficient operation of cooling and heating plants.
SyMa grew out of ReKs, a publicly funded TU Berlin research project. There, the control strategies were proven in two real cooling plants during live operation. The final report shows savings of up to 30% of operating energy, and considerably more under favourable conditions.
In 2023 we turned this into a company. We are based in Berlin.

SyMa decides on the basis of a thermodynamic model of your plant components. Anyone who asks gets the reasoning behind every operating point, not a reference to a learned pattern.
We label every number.
Measured means measured, projected means projected. Our reference plant in Karlsruhe is independently measured, and we state what each figure refers to.
We also say where the benefit is small.
SyMa pays off where several components need to be coordinated with each other. For a single, small packaged unit, there is little to orchestrate. We say so before the proposal, not after.
